Full Moon Series 2024 - Buck Moon

With the cycle of the phases of the Moon lasting approximately one month, and there being 12 months in a year, we typically have 12 full moons each year

This year, Buck Moon is occuring on 21st July,2024.

The connection between the natural world and the lunar cycle is truly remarkable. In Native American traditions, the full moon in July is often referred to as the "Buck Moon" because it coincides with the regrowth of antlers on male deer, known as bucks. The thunder moon name also derives from this month's propensity for thunderstorms in many regions, while the hay moon name reflects the hay harvesting season occurring during July in some agricultural areas. It's beautiful how these names capture the essence of the season and the activities associated with it.
